The Infrastructure Solution Design Specialist will be part of a team of Infrastructure Solution Design specialists, utilizing a structured, systematic an analytic approach to lead a team to understand key business drivers and the associated infrastructure requirements. You are a technology and solution delivery leader, and have a good comprehension of business applications and a strong understanding of the infrastructure technology stack. You will be able to identify the best solutions to meet business requirement in a standard and cost effective manner. You have strong technology influence to the infrastructure solution decision making process. Your job involves: • Possessing Project Management skills (including daily status tracking, accounting and budget tracking knowledge, ITIL), on boarding new solution design staff. • Working closely with business customers, and solution design team to prioritize tasks. • Infrastructure design, covering primarily server and storage and often including database and middleware solutions with an understanding of infrastructure aspects of BCM and disaster recovery. • Gathering requirements from clients and reviewing the solution with them, measuring, right-sizing resources and working out \\\"fit for purpose\\\" solutions using standard Infrastructure Services products and services. Interacting with App teams in understanding the business requirements and translate that into technical requirements. • Interacting with Infrastructure Services Product Management, Architecture and Engineering in seeking for the right technical solution based on the requirements. • Supporting service delivery and the execution team in implementing the solution. Requirements • People Management and Team Leadership • Engages team members and provides guidance and support as appropriate; Establishes and motivates team members to achieve team and business objectives; Provides clear communication channels for staff individually and in teams; Encourages development and identifies opportunities for staff to grow and develop • Technical background in Server HW technologies: Sparc, x86, on physical as well as on virtual servers with OS Solaris, Windows and Linux, storage (DAS, SAN, NAS), and networking technologies. • Broad understanding of standard MW components, e.g., DB, Java and messaging. • Customer focus and solid understanding of business application needs. Great interpersonal skills • In-depth functional and technical understanding of the broad IT infrastructure technology stack • Preferred Qualifications -Bachelor Degree in Computer Science • Experience in capacity and performance management, i.e. system measurement, analysis, and sizing, is certainly an advantage.
