IT Scrum Master
Job Title -IT Scrum Master
Location - Chicago, IL/Syracuse, NY (1 month remote than onsite)
Experience: 15+ years of experience with a minimum of 6 years of experience of pure Scrum practices as a Scrum Master

Job Summary:
· The Scrum Master’s primary responsibility is to organize work items for any technology projects.
.The scrum master will work with Project / Program managers to organize work, maintain backlog, and report on the progress.
Essential Functions, Job Duties & Responsibilities:
· Meet/exceed the customer’s (internal and external) expectations by understanding, anticipating, and meeting customer needs. Exhibit proactive communication; act and think with customers in mind
· Friendly, enthusiastic, and energetic with customers, co-workers, managers, and visitors. Promote and project a positive company image; treats others with courtesy and respect
· Consults with leadership and key stakeholders to ensure that project milestones are identified and tracked
· Proactively identify, assess, and resolve issues and mitigate risks that may threaten productivity, quality, goals, objectives, and project delivery
· Facilitates and leads all Scrum events: Sprint Planning, Daily Stand-up, Iteration Planning, Sprint Review, Sprint Retrospective, and Backlog Management
· Acts as a leader who guides, coaches, and supports the Scrum team on how to use Agile practices and principles to deliver high-quality products and services to our customers
· Develops and improves Agile processes, prioritizes development and improvements, and works alongside key stakeholders to implement
· Gets team to a high performing level by recognizing areas of strength and improvement and employing appropriate coaching and development techniques
· Responsible for ensuring Scrum is understood and the team adheres to Scrum theory, practice, and guidelines.
· Guides team in time estimating practices and facilitates team estimates
· Leads team effort in relentless improvement, define and implement improvement stories to increase the velocity and quality of the program
· Drive team iteration execution communicates with management and stakeholders, protects the team from the uncontrolled injection of work
· Manage project conflicts and challenges to keep operations running at a high performance; work with leadership to resolve people problems and roadblocks
· Maintain team data in TFS to support estimates and execution
· Set and review status of the project; manage schedules, prepare status reports, and present high-level project readouts for senior management – specifically burn down charts, team velocity, and other relevant metrics
· Monitor the effectiveness of Scrum team processes and performance
· Lead team efforts in continuous improvement by helping the team take ownership of their actions items as identified during retrospectives
· Mentor and coach the teams on Agile methodology and Scrum values and process
· Support growth of agile, specifically Scrum, within the organization

· BA/BS degree - required
· 15+ years of experience with a minimum of 6 years of experience of pure Scrum practices as a Scrum Master
· Agile coaching experience is a plus
· Agile transformation highly preferred
· Enterprise product experience preferred
· Scrum Master Certification from an accredited institution required
· Demonstrable expertise in agile methodology and frameworks including Scrum and Kanban.
· Demonstrated experience and expertise in TFS/Azure DevOps (very strong TFS experience a must)
· Agile practices and engineering development background is a must.
Experience, Skills & Abilities (i.e., technical, knowledge, etc.):
· Exemplify and promote Agile values and principles; expert knowledge of Agile frameworks (i.e. Scrum, Kanban)
· Deep understanding of agile metrics (tasks, backlog tracking, burndown metrics, velocity, user stories, etc.) to analyze and improve sprint planning
· Solid understanding of software development life cycle models as well as in-depth knowledge of traditional project management principles and practices
· Solid experience working with Architecture teams to assess and size story/epics
· Solid knowledge of modern technologies and software development
· Detail oriented and comfortable with analytics; Analyze and draw conclusions and make recommendations from data
· Ability to execute in a fast-paced, high demand, environment while balancing multiple priorities
· Lead, organize and execute with little or no direction, deliver commitments on time, and work on a team within a fast pace environment
· Work effectively in a team environment and across all organizational levels, where flexibility, collaboration, and adaptability are important
· Ability to understand and represent both the business and technology
· Excellent communicator in person, over the phone, and through email
· Strong presentation skills with the ability to explain technical considerations, alternatives, and recommendations to both technical and non-technical business stakeholders
· Strong business and technology acumen; passionate about customer experience
