We are currently looking for Software Development Engineer in Test(QE Engineer)to support one of our clients with the following skills: Role: Software Development Engineer in Test(QE Engineer) Duration: Contract 1+ year or C2H or Full Time Location: Seattle, WA & SFO, CA Positions: 15 Rate: DOE Description: Must be strong in Core Java Coding, Shell Scripting, Automation & Testing You need experience with java, a scripting language (Python, Perl, etc.), and API testing. A candidate will specifically be responsible for: Interact with Product Managers and Engineers to learn new features via documentation, reviews and programming interfaces Manual and automated development testing, release candidate testing and regression testing of web & stand alone applications Creating test data Coding test automation utilities in java, ruby or a scripting language Creating automated access to system and database parameters to validate processing. Work in a Hadoop big data ecosystem (technologies like Hbase, Hive, Impala, Pig, Crunch) Research and report issues into tracking database and maintain daily communication with team members via bug documentation, status reports, meetings, etc. Minimum skills: 8+ years of Industry experience is Must. 3+ years software quality assurance testing with web applications. 2+ years of in-depth experience developing test automation for business objects and entities independent of a user interface. 2+ years experience with back-end & front-end testing with ability to read code & develop automated test scripts. Experience with one of the big data tools like Hadoop, Kafka, HBase and Axial. Experience with XML, backend API and web services testing. Thorough understanding of QA methodology and best practices. Analyze defects and test results Strong knowledge of Unix shell commands, SQL and database technology. Good Java coding skills Great communication with both the team and QA management is essential. Able to multi-task, triage issues, react well to changes and work independently in a fast paced environment. Must be self-motivated and know when to seek guidance; detail-orientation is a must. Ability to work in energetic, yet fun environment. Additional valuable skills and experience: Test automation experience.
